Safe Motherhood

Safe Motherhood is a project that has been in implementation since the year 2016. In collaboration with Mama Toto CBEs it is implemented in Siaya County, 1,700 pregnant mothers mapped out and accessing skilled health services in the health facilities target. Alego Sub County, in Kadenge and Bar Olengo Sub locations.

The initiative aims to holistically take care of each expectant mother from conception, labor and delivery, first six months of exclusive breastfeeding and later weaning. We work with Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in identification and mapping of pregnant mothers, follow ups, primary health care (PHC) and referrals to increase the uptake of skilled healthcare and reduce maternal child morbidity and mortality rates.
