Although STIPA’s history dates back to 1996, it was officially registered as a Non Governmental Organization on 25th September 1997. The overall ambition was to enable organizations and communities be in control of their lives.  This is being achieved through three main strategies namely capacity building, advocacy and community development initiatives.  These have resulted in access to health care services, access to clean water and sanitation, improved livelihoods and peaceful environment.  STIPA’s interventions are guided by the principles of PICD that promotes attitude change so as to address the social challenges.
